Coldwell Banker Bain Announces Top Leadership Changes - Mike Grady Named CEO and President

Coldwell Banker Bain, a leading provider of real estate brokerage services throughout the Pacific Northwest, has announced top executive leadership changes for its corporate operations. The announcement supports the company’s strategic growth initiatives and positions it for the next decade and beyond by realigning how leadership provides support for its brokers and support staff.

Bill Riss, the company’s owner, continues as Chairman focusing on the company’s financial relationships, its Global Luxury marketing program and business development. Mike Grady, President and COO for the past 26 years, becomes President and CEO, leading and overseeing long-term strategic planning, affiliated business relationships, financial services, and serving as ‘head coach’ of the company’s senior leadership team.

Other prominent appointments include naming John Deely as Executive Vice President of Operations. Deely has been in branch management with Coldwell Banker Bain for more than 25 years, most recently as the Principal Managing Broker for offices in Lake Union, Madison Park and Magnolia. Tasha Pasco has been named Executive Vice President of Sales and Leadership Development, having led the company’s three-office operations in Tacoma for the past nine years.

John’s responsibilities will include both branch and support service center operations. Tasha will support the 30+ Principal Managing Brokers across the company in Washington and Oregon, and agent business development.

“John has one of the most highly-analytical minds I’ve ever known,” said Grady. “His attention to detail, strong legal acumen and strategic thinking has served several of our offices well for many years, and we’re confident he will lead our corporate operations in the same stealthy manner.”

“With Tasha, we have one of the first female commercial brokers in Pierce County, who also ran her own businesses, and has successfully translated that business and training ability across several offices in the South Sound,” Grady continued. “She is highly attuned to cultural nuances within offices, and understands how to coach to those differences within our broader company culture.”

Additional appointments were announced related to replacements for Deely and Pasco in their office roles. Laurie Way, who has been with Coldwell Banker Bain for more than 25 years, has been named Principal Managing Broker of the Coldwell Banker Bain of Lake Union, Magnolia, and Madison Park offices. Laurie most recently served as John’s Assistant Managing Broker and new licensee mentor.

Whitney Ellis has been named Principal Managing Broker for Coldwell Banker Bain’s Tacoma area offices in University Place, Point Ruston, and Proctor Station. Whitney served successfully in a similar role for Coldwell Banker in Florida, and now resides in Gig Harbor.

Key company leaders, Kim Gray and Scott Hannaman, have also been promoted to Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Executive Vice President of Marketing, respectively.

Said Riss, “For nearly three decades, Mike and I have led with a servant-leadership approach, which has allowed us to successfully grow the company into one of the most highly regarded real estate brands in the region. These appointments ensure a continuation of this vision - where the operational model is based on consensus management, working with of all our managers, brokers and employees with the singular purpose of helping everyone achieve their personal and professional objectives.”

Added Grady, “We stand on the cornerstones that made us a great company and look forward to a future with great expectations based upon this new fantastic team.”
